Vertical construction has commenced for 65 Franklin Street, a new Tribeca condominium development from Sky Equity Group.
The 24-story development, located at the intersection of Broadway and Franklin Street, broke ground in April and is expected to launch sales next year. Plans call for 106 homes ranging from one to five bedrooms in size, as well as amenities such as a swimming pool and parking. Ground-floor retail space will activate the street frontage along Broadway.
“We’re pleased to reach this important construction milestone at 65 Franklin Street as we continue expanding our condominium portfolio in Manhattan,” said Sky Equity Group founder and chief executive Simon Dushinsky in a news release. “As the building rises above grade, we’re excited to see our vision take shape. Thoughtfully designed to complement Tribeca’s distinctive architecture and historic streetscape, 65 Franklin will be a meaningful addition to the neighborhood while delivering an exceptional residential offering for future homeowners.”
COOKFOX is designing the project, which will include a hand-laid brick facade and landscaped loggias.
The project is being funded by a $320-million construction loan from G4 Capital Partners. Sky Equity Group has also acquired neighboring properties at 59 Franklin Street and air rights at 361 Broadway to use in the development.
Sky Equity Group recently topped out on 260 East 72nd Street, the company's first condominium project in Manhattan.
