Amazon may have very publicly backed out of its plans to construct a second headquarters in Long Island City, but the Seattle-based tech giant continues to expand in the region.

Bloomberg reports that Amazon is in talks with Mack-Cali Realty Corp. to lease up to 400,000 square feet of office space near the Jersey City waterfront. The proposed deal, if completed, would represent the entirety of the recently revamped Harborfront 1 office building at 150 Hudson Street.

Amazon's existing (and future) footprint includes offices in Hudson Yards and the Lord & Taylor building in Midtown.

Harborside 1, per a landing page from the Mack-Cali website, dates to 1929, when the eight-story structure was built for the Pennsylvania Railroad. The building, which recently underwent a renovation, is accompanied by sister properties named Harborside 2 and Harborside 3.
