Developer Acier Holdings has landed a $90-million construction loan for the initial phase of The Halo, a mixed-use project at 289-301 Washington Street in Newark which will include the city's tallest building.
Multi-Housing News reports that the loan from Parkview Financial will allow construction to begin immediately on the project's first tower - a 43-story building featuring 297 residential units above a five-level parking podium. Acier will ultimately construct three towers on the site, consisting of a total of 949 residential units.
The first building at The Halo will include a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, including 30 units of affordable housing. Additionally, plans call for amenities such as a pool, a fitness center, conference rooms, and a rooftop deck.
INOA Architecture is designing the complex, portrayed in renderings as a collection of contemporary glass-and-steel towers, while Hudson Meridian HM is its general contractor.
