The project, which will rise at the corner of Watson Avenue and Thieriot Avenue, will feature 205 studio and one-bedroom apartments. A total of 62 apartments will be reserved for homeless seniors, with the remaining units set aside for households earning no more than 50 percent of the area median income.

Magnusson Architecture and Planning is designing Casa Celina, which will consist of a 17-story building with amenities including a fitness room, a laundry room, a 1,725-square-foot community room, and a landscaped roof terrace.

The project is being developed by Xenolith Partners, LLC.

The deal to bring Casa Celina to the Sotomayor housing complex was announced simultaneously with plans to add a Studio Liebskind-designed income-restricted development to the Sumner Houses complex in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
