Slate Property Group recently celebrated the topping out of 159 Boerum Street, a 19-story ground-up construction project that is one of its newest developments and the second of its kind in the immediate area. Designed by Aufgang Architects, the building houses 162 apartments, with 49 of those set aside for affordable housing.
Per the renderings, the building will feature a gray facade with oversized windows and setbacks above the 12th and 16th floors to make way for large outdoor terraces. Amenities will include a fitness center, roof deck, parking garage, and bike storage.
“For a city facing a housing crisis, every building and every apartment matters. We look forward to rapidly finishing 159 Boerum so we can make this building a home for New Yorkers,” said David Schwartz, principal of Slate Property Group.
Income restrictions for the affordable units have not yet been disclosed and construction is expected to wrap up in summer 2025.
