Sliver-structure Ascends at 15-story Residential in Yorkville

Superstructure continues to ascend at a narrow 10 units residential project at 1477 3rd Ave. Deck forming is visible on the 12th floor of what will eventually rise to 15 floors, with perimeter framing trailing behind structural work.

The sliver of a structure comes from Saffayeh Group as the developer, with Omni Build Inc listed as the General Contractor. Filing documents indicate Dome Architecture & Engineering as the architect of record, who is one of the city's greatest suburban car dealership designers by the looks of their portfolio. 

At 155' tall, the building is squeezed between its much wider neighbors making for an interesting visual separation on an otherwise monolithic block of housing. 

The 27,800 SF structure appears rather innocuous from a design standpoint, renderings from the developer suggest a terra cotta cladding, with beaux-arts detailing. 

A completion date for the project is not listed. The building replaces a 2-story retail building
