The superstructure now extends beyond the half-way point at 35 W. 14th where Nexus Development is bringing 55 residential units and ground-floor retail in a 13-story mixed-use project with what can only be described as a "contemporary concrete and glass" design.

The building now under construction replaces a trio of storefronts that had been vacant for several years pending redevelopment. Among the recent tenants of those demolished buildings was a lighting supply store, now residents of the neighborhood must cross the street for lighting needs.

Upon completion, 35 W. 14th will compete with recently opened Village West at 525 W 6th St. where IGI, BKSK and Hunter Roberts, brought to life a project of similar scale, but in a more contextually appropriate package.

Almost directly across the street, Legion and EJS are underway on what is expected to be Greenwich Village's tallest residential building at 30 stories.
