The folks at 6sqft have unveiled fresh renderings for Banskide, Brookfield's massive waterfront tower complex now under construction in the Bronx.
The nearly $1-billion development, which faces the Harlem River in Mott Haven, will eventually consist of seven towers featuring a combined total of 1,350 apartments - roughly 30 percent of which would be affordable - across a 4.3- acre property.
The project, which is split into two phases, is starting with a parcel fronting Third Avenue, where a pair of 25-story buildings and a 17-story tower are sprouting from an eight-story podium (they topped out in April). The first building, the 455-unit Third at Bankside, is slated to open for residents by the end of 2021.
Four towers facing Lincoln Avenue will comprise the final phase, adding more than 900 apartments to the mix.
The towers, designed by Hill West Architects, will be accompanied by roughly 34,000 square feet of public open space, including a new waterfront park and esplanade.
