A dirt pit has appeared in Long Island City, where Thomson Development, LLC is prepping for construction at the future site of a mid-rise apartment building.
The project, first spotted by YIMBY, will rise from a wedge-shaped corner lot at 27-19 Thomson Avenue across the street from Court Square Park. Plans call for a new ten-story structure containing 30 residential units above approximately 5,000 square feet of commercial space on its first and second floors.
A rendering depicts a contemporary design for the building, which would stand 116 feet in height. Cantilevered balconies would line the corner units facing the intersection of Thomson Avenue and 44th Drive.
Completion of 27-19 Thompson Avenue is expected in Spring 2023, according to YIMBY. Warner Construction Services, Inc. is serving as general contractor for the project.
The development site is located a short walk south on 44th Drive from the site of Skyline Tower, the 67-story, 964-foot-tall condo development that recently claimed the title of the tallest building in Queens.
